EyeBallTini

While I can't take credit for the creation of the EyeBallTini it is a fun way to spice up a classic martini for halloween.

You are going to need to pick up some radishes and olives stuffed with a pimiento.  Cost - Under $5.00 for about 10 to 15 eyeballs.

Next you will need to take a knife and scrape some viens into the eyeball by removing strips of the radish.

On one end of the radish cut a small hole so that you can fit your olive into it.

Whip up a great dry Martini by mixing 1 3/4 oz of Smirnoff Vodka and 1/4 oz Dry Vermouth in your shaker.  Stir and strain into chilled martini glass and garnish with an eye ball.

Ingredients

Smirnoff Vodka

Dry Vermouth

Radish

Olive with Pimiento

The Truth About Online Bartending Schools

The Truth About Online Bartending Schools

It seems like just about every day I get  calls or emails asking for an honest answer about the validity and credibility of online bartending schools.  And I answer it the same way every time.  Would you go get a hair cut from a hairdresser that learned to cut hair online?  As they laugh they all say no.  Would you let a doctor perform surgery on you that learned though an online course?  Again they laugh and say no.

The same goes for bartending.  Learning to bartend is not just memorizing drinks.  It is a skill that must be learned and developed with practice.  In all of our bartending schools, the students spend a good portion of the time developing proper pouring techniques, speed and pouring efficiency.  Our instructors provide instant feedback to the students so mistakes can be corrected immediately.

Our instructors also provide real life scenarios to help students prepare for work as a bartender.  This one on one time with a seasoned bartender is worth its weight in gold.  This is something an online course can never give you.

Here are a few other questions that I receive and my answers to these questions.

Are there any good online bartending schools?

I have either purchased or investigated almost all of the ones that I could find and there is nothing that I would recommend.  You might as well by a cocktail book and start memorizing drink recipes because that is all you are going to learn.

Does a perspective employer recognize an online bartending course?

No, not at all.

Will on online bartending course help me get a job?

Consider this.  You are applying for a job as a bartender and it comes down to a person that has a certificate from a recognized bartending school or from a website.  Who do you think is going to get the job.

The moral of the story here is you get out of life what you put in to your life.  If you want to become a professional bartender then spend the time and money and go to a recognized school!
